Panel Upgrades done properly
Most homes in the Edmonton region built before the 1990s went in with a 60 or 100 amp service. That was plenty for the day. It is not plenty for a house with a heat pump, an induction range, a hot tub and an electric vehicle in the garage.

Yes. In Alberta, panel and service upgrades require an electrical permit and inspection. We take care of the permit as part of the job.
For most homes adding a hot tub, EV charger or suite, 200 amps gives comfortable headroom. In some cases a load management system can let you add an EV charger without a full service upgrade. We'll tell you honestly which makes more sense for your house.
